Description

Take an epic adventure to Glacier National Park via Amtrak and become "Citizen Scientists!"

Overview: Troop 107 connected with Glacier's "Citizen Science Project" (learn more) where we would break out into 3 patrols for a week of observations, hiking, camping and backpacking.

Highlights: The Project coordinators provided us with GPS coordinates for our hikes and overnight backpacking trips as well as observation gear and walkie talkies.  All of us felt like we were Park Rangers as we could hear all of the activities in the park, such as bear sightings!

Transportation: 3 adults drove 3 passenger vehicles (one for each patrol) while all of the Scouts and other adults took an overnight Amtrak train directly to the park.

Costs: $350/person including Amtrak tickets.
